My take on the situation:
Madrid either didn't want to or didn't have the funds to offer 250 mil to psg for his transfer so they asked him to go to Saudi for 1 season and later planned to sign him for free from them. But mbappe chose to rather stay in psg than move to Saudi and ruin his legacy in a worse way
