I may get downvoted to hell but its the cringiest anime I have ever seen in 22 years of my existence
BayArea [#4]The people who I’ve seen like the anime are only people who can relate to Bocchi, and if you’re in that position, you got big problems
I agree with your take.
michaelisupset [#6]Ive heard it was very good

what makes it cringe? its about a girl with severe anxiety right?

The severe anxiety attacks even in the minimal of human interaction or even after so called “growth” is what makes me cringe

Why do people only want shows where they can live through the MC vicariously. This is why the west is obsessed with harem power fantasies

unsatisfied with their own existence :(

Yeah I’m wondering the same damn thing, it seems like Bocchi fans seem to live vicariously through her

What i'm saying is it seems like alot of their critiques are "i can't watch this because i'm not socially anxious" They would prefer a self insert MC rather than one that is different than them. A big part about fiction is learning different perspectives.

I mean Bocchi had a ton of growth, she went from sitting in her closet to joining a band, making friends, and playing infront of a live audience. That takes a ton of "balls" especially for someone dealing with that kind of anxiety. I've been around coffee shop gigs and even the most extroverted people get nervous to play live.

Even after all that growth she shits her pants when a shop owner talks to her. Maybe all her growth is forced? The band is carrying all her interactions 80% of the time. Atleast get you own damn guitar for god sake

Such a nice take

I think Nintendo made games to make a profit because well uhh, capitalism. That's your real enemy right there. They couldn't care less about revenge, in fact a lot of japan is infatuated with american culture

Yeah I'm not assuming your tastes, it’s just that saying it's bad unless the watcher is socially anxious is a bad critique. If you feel like her character growth is forced that's fair, I thought it was pretty natural.

Your point is valid & my critique is bad but I think if you watch a show you sort of connect with it? You dont just watch it for the sake of watching & writing reviews, atleast not the average joe, but since bocchi is made the way it is, its hard for people like me to connect with it
