can jinggg not defer his military service by a year or 2 atleast? Haven't other singaporean sport athletes been able to defer their national service for a couple of years?

BUT from what i know, you need a very important reason in order to defer NS, usually the reasons to defer are you either attend polytechnic (school) beforehand or you have something really critical you need to be there for
and cultural wise video games really aren't seen as important as competing in traditional sports i suppose
champs doesn't "have to" be his last event, he could always return afterwards, but i think his mom said in a stream or something he didn't want to return and wanted to pursue his studies
