Also when they were not fully acquired by Optic but merged with Envy - Optic, they dropped 0 maps and came 2nd in Masters Berlin only losing to Gambit
That makes them like the only team to come top 3 more than 3 times

especially back in like 2021 to mid 2022 when people thought it was extremely hard to be consistent in this game
xSaneZ [#7]Let's be real, EDG was always a good team and it was obvious only if you watched their matches. People only seeing their stats and the fact they've not won don't realise how close their matches are and some of the great plays they make
I remenber the lock in was a closer match against 100T especially for CHICHO, but NA teams sometimes they have some much luck and individuals perfomances.

even their game vs PRX after they qualified to champs was close af too
The best thing was their adjustments after each game. In their Navi game they were relying too much on individual plays and although they edged out a win they went into the t1 game playing much more coordinated with more protocols. T1 was such a stomp that they had nothing to improve upon anymore, hence them playing the same and losing to TL. In the TL game TL exposed Cypher's weakness and exploited EDG's passiveness on lotus defense(the only reason edg could even make a comeback near the end was bc they learnt to play more aggressive and had chichoo won that clutch edg was going to win lotus) and edg learnt from it, hence they beat Loud by taking B main control more often on lotus and playing much more aggressive.
Tldr, the strength of edg isn't just them having good aim, but also great adaptation willingness to learn after each single defeat/close game(looking at you DRX)
