ash_knuckles [#5]most of them are usually created with that in mind. also gc's kinda been a disappointing scene so i rlly can't blame ppl having the opinions they do, unjustified as they are
Usually i try to indulge in them, but most times it just ends up being a circular argument.
Fair point
there can be so many nuanced discussions about how the gc scene is hindering womens' ability to work in a co-ed team or why gc teams lose to t3 teams becaude of the lack of structure but every thread has to be :
"oh remember v1 lost to nsic? so females cant compete with males well uh scientifically"

that's above average VLR iq wtf
No one brings up good points against it and say “women should get to the top by themselves or we are wasting money and production on a worse league” but nothing about “higher buyouts on gc players due to their popularity in a lower play league, orgs having their female players in contract jail because of the image of their org. Orgs being unable to harbor a gc team in the long term due to franchise restriction. Long term implementation of both leagues as a complicated goal” which are interesting points in terms of business and representation and can provoke smart discussion. Most people want to be ignorant and point out the worst possible points.

if you question even one of these things on twitter be prepared because orgs and players will eat u alive for being a misogynist/incel/machist.
Hell, i said tier2 'mens' valorant was beating tier1 mixed feminine teams and people almost murdered me

No dont get me wrong, these are only valid points to question about the dissolution or validity of keeping a gc league long term. But it is completely wrong outright to deny the impact that the gc scene has brought to val esports. The whole contract thing wouldnt have even happened if meL wasnt a famous player through the scene and the fact that valorant has above 30% female playerbase is all testament to how genius of an idea the GC foundation was. I do think questioning the validity of having a gc scene is incredibly ignorant or forcefully so.

i see it being dissolved in the future tho, as it would do more to hurt the mixed team vision in the long-term . Either that or its gets relegated to a grassroots scene (no gigantic tourneys/pizzazz all that shit).

Yeah this is imo the best solution to the problems it caused. And riot has started to figure that out with the head of esports saying that GC will eventually be dissolved.

My bad I dont think it was the head of esports but a member of the esports team said it. Im trying to find the tweet, but I remember meL talking about it.

ya i'm honestly down with this vision tbh. I wanna see the gc players i support at actual stages, not playing fucking charity tournaments.
