It matters, if he smoked the spike instead NAVI would be busy shooting at the smoke thinking they difusing while Liquid can just aim at them. If you smoke the entrance and not the spike they just gonna spam through it

Not necessarily they would still be able to "see" the players swinging them. No pro player would be just shooting instead of assessing the situation. Like I said smoking main was probably a gamble banking on nats pushing through to get the kill but it didn't work
