I haven't been following much of tier 2 outside NA, but it does seem we have some very good teams (M80, Guard, G2, even OXG or TSM, etc.). How do they compare to south american tier two teams? am i biased in thinking that we stand a pretty good chance to do well in ascension?

NA has a large talent pool so overall we’re p well off in terms of tier 2 talent. The union is scary for the boys in NA tho.

NA should be the favourites coming in.
they have access to scrims with the franchise teams.
but you cant rule out brazil, the union in particular have the tools to be a strong team.
latam is not too scary. 9z>> fusion. 9z could cause an upset but its very unlikely they win the whole thing

"pretty good chance to do well in ascension"
doing well in ascension doesn't mean anything for the teams. All that matters for all teams in Ascension is to win and make it to the franchise. Anything lower will disappointment to teams.

With that being said, people don't know the skill level of tier 2 SA vs tier 2 NA teams.
However, you can only judge based on scrim results against tier 1 and tier 1 competition in the past.

the union is really fucking good but my unbiased thoughts are NA still has a better chance

Im just worried that with most franchising teams leaving brazil NA challengers teams will kinda get a "heads start" in terms of scrim practice. Also M80 does seem to be the most drilled and disciplined team out of all challengers teams I have seen. as it stands rn I dont see union winning that matchup we will see tho

Its really hard to tell how good the union actually is because IMO all the teams they are playing (publicly*) are pretty underwhelming. That on top of NA teams having access to much better scrims I dont see a south american team winning ascension

Its also hard to go off scrimbux because M80 has been beating franchised teams just as much as Union, as well as scrimbux being useless in general

NA is favored, but SA should never be counted out.

I don't follow the NA scene, but The Union is really good. In a recent Interview, Asuna said that they are very good and he didn't see NA as favorites for Ascension.

saadhak also said the opposite about NA challengers being better than BR so idek what to think anymore. Assuming that they around the same rn im worried the union will fall behind due to lack of scrims. But we shall see that match will be a banger regardless

It will be a banger for sure. But Saadhak said that the NA tier 2 is bigger and more structured than Brazil's one, but he also said that we have more talent and a better tactical game here.
