What is LoCk/IN format ?

What is this new format ? Where you lose one game and your out ? So teams are traveling to Brazil only to play one game? I am not able to understand this format? Is riot trying to lower the expenses? They can't afford the 30 teams tournament?

One time tournament + It's only to introduce the franchised teams

Also they said they don't want to make it a very long tournament since the franchised is gonna start soon in March

Americas, EMEA and Pacific will start in March

Defo will be a league system where every weekend there are games and it will be on LAN

I understand why they put this format, cause if was double elimination or a group stage and single elimination after, the tournament would have like, 2 months, unsustainable. Besides the calendar of the franchised.

But i agree, shit format
