I'm just wondering why XSET is still not top 10 NA when they're pretty consistent with their results? And why TSM is STILL in top 10 when they're literally dog shit since masters 1
ranker11 [#3]XSET were top 10 before masters 1 lost some rank after that. TSM were champions and finalists but now they should lose more rank. Soniqs had a headstart because they were #1 team let them play 10 more official matches to get a proper rank.
yea, but tbh, i think they would still be top 10 NA anyways
bigpeensheen [#5]Idk, TSM has been getting smaller wins in the shadows that no one cares much about, so that adds up, and XSET kinda falling off, not in skill, but in rankings, since there have been a bunch of open quals happening along with the regular monthly tournaments NSG hosts
They should make it such that if a team is in top 15 and lose before quarter finals they should lose additional 10 points.
Honestly vlr ranking should be made transparent.

They do that. It still doesn't make a difference. You have to remember, TSM were #1 in North America during most of First Strike with like 2100 rating iirc, and XSET had about 1600 rating at that time. That's a lot of rating to recover.

Still a team that couldn't qualify for masters shouldn't be above a team who went upto masters
V0sotros [#9]The vlr.gg rankings are kind of bad just don't use them. We probably shouldn't be caring about regional rankings and wait until international LANs come, that's when the rankings will really matter.
thespike has a pretty good ranking system tho

Yeah, I trust them far more than vlr's rankings, but being a number 1 in a specific region just feels like it doesn't matter right now if they can't show up against the other region's best. Like how Renegades is by far the best csgo team in Oceania/Australia, but once they went up against the best that EU, CIS, and NA have to offer they floundered. Just saying you are number 1 in a region doesn't mean anything if you can't beat or even just compete against other region's best.

Still gives an idea about the overall best team of a region
