ortuh [#30]This is the first generation where its normalised for women to game / get into gaming culture. It was and potentially still is to some extent, stigmatised that women shouldn't and don't game. Don't forget that you wouldn't be here now and into gaming if you parents didn't buy you your first console. Most older generations never allowed their daughters to game, so there are much less women gaming compared to men, and much less of them get close to pro level. Say its a 0.001% chance that someone goes pro, and the ratio of men playing compared to women is 5:1 (these odds are very generous, its probs closer to 20:1) , who is going to have more representation in the pro scene? Gamechangers isn't because women are biologically worse than men, it's to show women that this is a space and a passion that they are allowed to have and that it isn't for men only. A young girl goes on twitch and sees some amazing players playing, finds out that they are all women competing at a high level, shes obviously going to have her opinion on gaming changed.
