ROSTER HISTORY
2021
-KRU would enter Valorant in early 2021 ahead of the VCT season and would sign a core 5 of players. The stack going into the first VCT qualifier would be:
-NagZ
-aks
-leobas
-Klaus
-Mazino
-The team would have relative success in the LATAM-S qualifier, and would earn themselves a spot at the regional masters. However, they would fall one match short of the Grand Finals with a loss to Australs.
-After the loss, leobas and aks would depart the roster, and would be replaced by delz1k and bnj. Keznit would also join, but only as a streamer.
-Going into Stage 2 with this new roster, KRU would be much more dominante in LATAM-S than before, and would make it all the way to the grand finals of the main event of Stage 2 without dropping a map, beating 9z a total of 4 times in the process. With a Grand Finals win over Infinity Esports, KRU would guarantee their first international appearance at Masters 2 Reykjavik, as LATAM's representative.
-At Reykjavik, the squad would lose their first match to eventual runner-ups, FNATIC, and would send Sharks Esports home before being sent packing by Top 4 finisher, Liquid.
-Going into Stage 3, KRU would bench bnj and bring up keznit from his streaming position to a player. They would again run all the way through the open qualifier and main event, and would face LATAM-N teams for the first time in playoffs. The roster going into playoffs would be:
-keznit
-klaus
-nagz
-mazino
-delz1k
-In playoffs they suffered an upper final loss to Australs, but would beat 6Karma to return to the Grand Finals and send Australs home 3-0, earning them their second international appearance at Masters Berlin. They had also now accumulated enough circuit points to guarantee a spot at Champions.
-At Berlin, they would win their opening match in groups against Zeta, but would be sent to the decider match by powersquad Envy. After sending home Keyd Stars and securing a spot in playoffs, they would take an early exit to the also-hot G2 Esports.
-Between Berlin and Champions, KRU made no changes to their starting lineup. They would lose their opener to Liquid, and send Furia packing to earn a playoff-qualification match with Sentinels.
-KRU also sent Sentinels home, in an upset many thought was improbable at the time. It is still Sentinel's worst performance at an international tournament to date
-KRU would continue their run in playoffs by convincingly beating FNATIC, but would exit champions after barely losing a tight overtime final map to Gambit, a map and match that is still considered by many to be one of the best in VCT history
2022
-KRU would recieve a bye into the LATAM group stages for 2022, and would go 4-0 in groups. After squeaking into playoffs with a win against 9z, KRU would run the lower bracket of playoffs to secure a rematch with Leviatan, winning 3-2 to earn a spot at their fourth international lan.
-At Reykjavik (again), KRU would fail to win a single map and bomb out in losses against OpTic and Liquid, their worst performance to date
-In Stage 2, after again dominating the group stage and making their way to the Grand Finals of LATAM, they would get swept 0-3 by Leviatan, forcing them to play the BR/LATAM LCQ, where they would bear NiP 3-0 to secure a spot in the group stage of Masters Copenhagen
-At Copenhagen, they would send Loud, the Brazilian superteam that had only 1 career loss, to the lower bracket early. However, they would face consecutive losses to Guild and OpTic to end their run at Masters 2. Due to their consecutive low placements and Leviatan's win against XSET later in the tournament, KRU would be forced to play the LCQ.
-At LCQ, KRU breezed through the competition, earning their spot at Champions after only dropping 1 map betweek VK, TBK, and Furia.
-At Champions, KRU would lose their opener to reigning champions FPX, but would beat Xerxia to stay alive. Unfortunately, they would have to face a rematch with FPX to qualify, and would have the same outcome as their previous meeting, ending their run at Champions 2022.
