my big brain conspiracy is that riot is actually helping out eu they want as little matches streamed and played as possible so they have an advantage in international competition cause they can save strats and there is less footage

I think the format of the tournament is decided by each region's HQ of Riot, not the "International Riot".
In NA they have a lot of games with loser's bracket. In the first Masters in Brazil, they had no loser's bracket. In Korea there is group stage, and so on.
If there's one to blame, is Riot EU themselves.
