In the coming partnership/franchise leagues there will be 10 teams for all of America, 10 for Emea and 10 for APAC. These 3 major regions all have similar playerbases, around 500 million players (wrong numbers, this is way too high, but I don't remember what they were. I just remember reading that all three legues were around same monthly playerbase). However in this champions there are 7 teams from America, 6 from APAC and only 3 from EMEA.
I think that the reason why EMEA is generally considered to be the best region is that they have less teams representing the same size playerbase. This means that they never or rarely send filler teams. If there was a separate qualifier for Turkey only then EMEA representation would be weaker despite there being more EMEA teams. In the end this doesn't matter that much because hopefully for the coming years all 3 partnership leagues will have the same representation. Just goes to show how packed the EMEA region is
