BOOM as darkhorse? Kinda weird ngl, I don't feel like I sense a distinct style from them unlike PRX and they weren't good enough playing "common" valorant to qualify any earlier so this feels kinda cap

i think they have a good idea of how to play the game along with solid mechanics. they have well-coordinated execs and retakes, a solid read on the meta, and decent mid-rounding. imo they're somewhat similar to xerxia, but they have a significantly better entry player (players sometimes) in Famouz and Berserx.

their biggest issue for me is probably how they often take 50/50 duels without any players to trade them, but I've seen so many teams fix that problem going into LAN for whatever reason.

also, slight variations of "common" valorant has won 4/5 international LANs so far.
