the game sound is loud af in their ears because of the white noise from the outer headphones, thus people like to turn it down when they dont have to play in that round anymore
More like refreshments I think.
Me personally when play a little bit longer than usual, will turn down the volume a little and play music when dead.
Worst when I have a bad day, I will play unrated and go mute game sound and only play song.
It helps you reset the stress that build over time.
He uses the game sound when he needs to hear footsteps etc... after he dies he turns it off so he doesn't get distracted and lose focus as there is no benefit.
