FPX roles are different and interesting

i think almost every team right now has these 5 roles
oper/main duelist
flex/entry duelist
smokes
sentinel
initiator

i think fun plus phoenix plays the 5 roles quite differently and have one extra role, the lurking playmaker
now, they have
oper-ardiis
flex-zyppan
shao-initiator
suygetsu-sentinel
onto ange1, he plays the lurking playmaker, he has no specific role but he will try to make aggressive plays solo, not being silent, making a shit ton of noise, he does this on omen, yoru and on viper today, i dont think any other team has this role, he makes a shit ton of noise, helps a set play happen by diverting attention away from the team and towards him,which is quite a different approach to the game considering they dont have any dedicated smokes player

so a lurker who fakes? I feel like you're overthinking this, a lot of team's have done this, maybe fpx have been doing it more recently but it isn't a crazy thing
