It's amazing, 2 years of game, and RIOT continue with stupid decisions, 8 teams only? this is ridiculuos

how much will the tourney make? how many people will actually view it? is it profitable despite the production costs and cost to rent the venue? should we include more teams despite it resulting in longer tournament which leads to more expenditure? no lmao this tourney will result in a fucking loss if they inc more teams

Pogtestic [#9]G2 vs c9 finals
I hope so, I really want to see G2 vs C9W, It will decide the best female team and also the best GC region
divisionbell [#2]I believe on someday the RIOT make ONE tournament international with good format, teams... maybe 2030
Riot will never organize a perfect tournament. I gave up hoping on that.

well the way he phrased it is kinda rude but its kinda true no? its just like nba and wnba, the level of play is higher in the nba hence the monetary investment is larger, in this case maybe bringing additional teams could cost riot more money towards an event that is less profitable.
I wonder if with franchising the spots for masters / champs will reduce as well. With 8-10 teams per region that leaves us with 24-30 tier1 teams in the world. if masters continues being 12 teams, that means you have a 50%-40% chance of getting to masters just for existing as a tier1 team (assuming they give the same slots to each region). and if champs is 16, that would be a 66.6%-53.3% of getting to champs. Kinda kills the hype a little bit imo :/
