Franchising is actually good

Luminosity has made over -6m in losses this past year or so and therefore their chances of ever entering NA Franchise is very little.

FaZe has also reported losses so we might see a massive roster shuffle towards the end of this year, after Masters 2 or even Champions.

Why is franchising good?

  1. Stability: Organisations have good cashflow to maintain player salaries, travel and other events related to branding.

  2. Eliminates organisations that are in risk of pulling out and delaying salaries to players, staff and coaches. E.g. LG, Potentially FaZe

  3. Return on investment (ROI): Organisations with good stability and long term commitment will gain a free spot into the franchising system and additional funding and brand equity will be provided.

Simply, the more an Organisation is seen by fans in tier 1 Valorant, the better the growth of the orgs brand value and profits, hence franchising removes bad actors and rewards good actors with monetary value to maintain their standards of committing good acts in our case; timely salaries, longetivity and hunger to improve and gradually increase the level of tier 1 val.

TLDR: Bad orgs out, good orgs maintained.

But then you run the risk of killing t2 and essentially removing upcoming talent from the scene. Common shownu L

T2 games were never organised by riot in the first place, other TO's will continue to do it. It's just that t1 teams will now have to actually be really picky about scouting players.

That's not true. If an org is committed, then they will eventually get into franchising, e.g. in LoL KCorp (French Powerhouse) team is not part of the LEC (EU Major League) but they are one of the top organisations with fans, commitment and a team competing in tier 2 EU Masters tournament. They are soon joining LEC next year.

From what I have learned so far, the valo franchising is not that bad. Riot ready start constructing T2 scene but nobody seems to care bout it so L them. Tho I feel like the number of teams in each league is way too low.
