I don't think that the flash and molly need that kind of buff, bc they have different use options/animations (flashes' got left and right throws, molly's got long and short range), but the wall only goes foward, no other option other than curving it. The best they can do about it is reduce the equip animation for the molly. I think that they've got to remove the wall's equip time, and maybe adding a new throwing option for the flashes, like a foward long range Kayo kind of flash, no gravity so it just goes in 1 direction, and maybe bounces and stops when it collides with a wall, like his actual flash does. Also it's a good idea to give him more healing from his molly and wall, since he's got no movement ability it's a good idea to give him a way to recover from a gunfight. It's definitely a more passive approach to a duelist, but it's the only way to make him playable.

If Riot adds everything that I've said they could save Phoenix, as he doesn't need a lot of buffs to be a better agent, he needs BETTER MECHANICS.

And no. Long range flashes would not make him exactly like Kayo, there's different ways to implement new mechanics to basic agents. All of this could save Phoenix from being useless and eventually, unplayable.

Don't compare Phoenix's flashes with Initiator flashes, those are obviously way better than Duelist flashes for a reason, those are made to support, gain info and create space, while Duelist flashes were made to get a duel advantage. The thing is Reyna and Yoru flashes are also useful to support teammates.
It's not that Phoenix is a bad duelist, he fills the role, but the other duelists just have better mechanics.

posted about 2 years ago

They're definitely the worst but still got their use, the difference is Reyna and Yoru flashes' got more teamplay and support useability. Phoenix's are individual popflashes, and that's not really bad, but what Riot's gotta do is find a way to make him more teamplay friendly and not just a useless kit that heals himself running around with a gun.

Or maybe that's not the solution, they are closer to make like Reyna, a frag agent, not really made to create space with utility, but by getting kills.

Seems unlikely, both Viper's and Phoenix's walls have some kind of punishment for crossing them. Neon's walls should have something like a damage/stun punishment (since she has a stun ability, maybe they're making her kit with the idea of stun or slowing other enemies). Wall abilities are kinda weak, they only limit vision, there's no other way of preventing players of pushing them. If they make it a visual ability only, it'll end up at Phoenix's wall level of utility in a few months.

Quoting and expanding my reply from another thread:

They could make it so the wall has no equip time, easier to curve, and lasts longer.
His molly and wall could add a burn efect, that keeps the player on fire and deals a low amount of damage for a few seconds (something like 20 damage, to punish people for crossing his wall and molly).
His ult could last longer or make it so he recovers a little bit of ult time per kill (2 sec time recovery per kill seems balanced, idk about healing per kills bc he regenerates back to 100 when the ult ends).
And yeah his flashes are decent, but I gotta be honest, they do not even compare to Yoru and Reyna flashes in terms of utility. Maybe speeding up the use animation (not the flashes' activation time, but Phoenix's hand model), so it's easier to play off your popflashes.

Phoenix needs a rework more than Yoru imo.
After the Yoru rework we'll probably see him more in Bind comps, maybe Haven. That leaves Phoenix out of any kind of useful role.

I've rewatched it and looks like an accuracy increase, but maybe it's just for the trailer? Just for it to look a little bit more satisfying and getting the kills for the gameplay. Giving her movement abilities an accuracy increase is like giving Jett the ability to shoot while dashing.

posted about 2 years ago

they should delete phoenix on the next duelist release, guy's literally useless.

posted about 2 years ago

Nah she just shooting while speed boosted, looks like a rng joke. Full accuracy would be really broken.

posted about 2 years ago

Ok so she's got a speed boost instead of a dash, something like parallel phoenix fire walls, throwable bouncing area stuns, and her ulti is basically dps laser gun from her hand. Looks cool.

You're right, but Nivera's playstyle on CS already fitted the one he's playing right now for TL, while Trexx played almost 100% duelist. Aggresive players are hard to contain in a passive role, but if we consider that the most dangerous sentinels are those who know when to change playstyles and that we already know he's got really good aim, maybe it's not as weird as we think. Mixwell did a really smooth transition from duelist to sentinel and stepped up for G2 when they most needed him.
About Sayf, I already said this on another thread, support players changing to the Jett role don't usually work that well. The most notable example is Sacy, and in this situation it's pretty similar to Sayf's situation. He played the sentinel role the entire time for his team and while he's capable of fill the duelist role, he might not be the strongest one in the team.

wtf.
I hope it works, but this roster is doing some strange role changes. It's concerning. At least if it doesn't work out they can keep changing roles, these players are viable on 2 roles at least.

posted about 2 years ago

I'm talking about future changes, maybe 2nd half of the year. Imo Noel hasn't done anything to improve Heretics in the last year and it could be time for a staff change if things don't go well with the new roster. Nothing to say about Bromas i don't even know his exact staff role rn.
And Tanizhq, he's done a great job both on Heretics and SMB, and I really hope he can level up the new Giants roster, but if he keeps bouncing around orgs he'll be leaving a gap to fill in the staff. Any good coach can fill it but the posibility for Pietola could be there.

posted about 2 years ago

Weird role for Russ but we haven't seen him play it yet. Maybe he's kind of a hidden sentinel talent.

posted about 2 years ago

If we keep that in mind, he might be playing in a tier 2 team in a few months. But if he decides to coach instead, maybe he could join a top org in need of a new directive, like Heretics or Giants (I really don't remember who's coaching Giants rn but since pipsoN left I guess the coaching staff will get pretty inconsistent throughout first months).

posted about 2 years ago

Btw those are EU top performers. NA top players are mostly jett mains / second duelists, and we're still talking about 100T.

posted about 2 years ago

We can't know whether or not he's still a top 5 Sova, he hasn't played with a true team in so long. But he definitely deserves a chance to get back in the server, more than anyone rn. #FreeLakia

posted about 2 years ago

Most G2 flairs changed to KRÜ and various EU orgs. Reasonable if you ask me.

posted about 2 years ago

Also his performance was key for G2 before keloqz got signed, idk if he could have performed better than m1xwell (still I don't think so) but he's such a dedicated guy. Let's leave it like that, he's just one of the unlukiest players in VALORANT up to date, but I wish he founds a better home wherever he goes.

posted about 2 years ago

Buy why would they? Other than NA orgs no one could pay them for their level and experience, and who knows how the distance can affect them mentally. Those are strong factors to have in mind when we talk about players moving to other regions.

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah I don't think anyone would sign keloqz for more than a year, but I'm hoping none of these players end up like pyth.

Also pyth and maxie can't play with Bleed rn, this guy is having the worst time of his career.

posted about 2 years ago

Ofc but do we know their contracts' deadlines?

posted about 2 years ago

Nah Davidp and Doma are definitely finding a roster in the next months, if they're not it's bc the orgs are closing up their rosters for the first half. keloqz is the only one we cannot expect to be moving to a roster in the near future, if Riders couldn't get him at least on loan before the VRL starts it's impossible for him to find new opportunities in smaller orgs. G2 know his potential really well, they know that he's a threat outside their roster and the only way to be sure he won't be a problem is to get him transferred and with a good % of profit.

posted about 2 years ago

You're right, Kryptix and dimasick are 2 sentinel flex players with so much impact (at least they were at their peek). They could absolutely fit on any roster that is not in need of an IGL. So sad.

posted about 2 years ago

Unfortunately yeah, there's no way they find an org days before the start of the EU VRL's and Challengers events. It's sad bc those you mentioned are some of the most impactful players of the scene, and there's more that deserve a place in these events, like arch and Foxie (idk if he's back in Finest or if he's left down after Heretics dropped him).

posted about 2 years ago

-MONSTEER -Quick
+pAura +Doma

And we've got a top tier roster, my guy.

posted about 2 years ago

Absolutely. -Quick might be the only way for the roster to improve. I don't remember if they needed Quick for the VRL rule change but if that is not a problem maybe someone like Doma could fill the role.

And I don't want them to get rid of MONSTEERR, but man... pAura would've been something else.

posted about 2 years ago

Who are they? no literally I have no idea I've never seen those players before.

posted about 2 years ago

Ok i know it's not gonna happen but that would've been awesome, that's an absolute improvement from MONSTEERR to pAura in every way you wanna see it.

posted about 2 years ago

Ngl 100T, Faze or C9 could've got a huge improvement with pAura on their teams, but who knows how the distance and his language difficulties (he had kind of a hard time with comms back in Heretics) could affect him mentally.

posted about 2 years ago

Ofc MONSTEERR's got the potential, he's young and I've seen him grinding the game a lot in the las time, I just said that it won't work if he keeps playing on the same level as he was in that desastrous attempt of a roster. I really believe he can improve a lot and make the difference for the roster.

posted about 2 years ago

I would prefer something like:

Chiwawa - Sentinel
elllement - Jett (or Second Duelist)
Moe40 - Sova
Patitek - Flex, Second Duelist (or Jett)
Ozzy - Controller, Sage?

I know Chiwawa back on sentinel is pretty controversial bc he's a Cypher one-trick but I believe he's had enough time to play the other agents and master them. It's not as hard to be an efficient Killjoy comparing it to a Sova or Viper, and now that Chamber is in the agent pool maybe he could surprise with the agent.

About elllement and Patitek, I've seen elllement play the Jett for the first time a time ago and he's kinda good with it, enough time has passed for him to make it viable for him. Pati is just different on Reyna and we're yet to see him on Skye or Sage (not really believing on the Sage, that's why I would give it to Ozzy).

posted about 2 years ago

I wouldn't trust right away a player's tweet about roles and positions in the team, but it's the only thing we've for now. Sayf on sentinel is just the role I see him playing the best and the one I hope he keeps playing, most players moving to the Jett role goes bad, most notably: Sacy, but I guess they can make it work anyways.

posted about 2 years ago

Not really feeling the new Giants roster, they seem pretty weakened by MONSTEERR, unless he's getting in better form than what he was in Heretics. russz and Fit1 will definitely put some big numbers this first months but I wouldn't bet for the rest of the roster.

posted about 2 years ago

Just saw that thread. I hope Patitek doesn't play controller again, he definitely performs better on Reyna.

btw do you know the possible/confirmed roles of that lineup?

posted about 2 years ago

I guess that could work? maybe if they play like

Sayf - Sentinel and Viper, otherwise Controller?
Leo - Controller / Sova on Breeze
Koldamenta - Sova / Sentinel or Breach on Fracture / Breeze
Trexx - Duelist, mainly Jett
Russ - Flex, probably Skye, Sage and Second Duelist

Mayyybe that could work better. I would put Leo on Controller only because he's the one with the most potential to flex that role out of Sayf. Altho he's a good Sova player Kolda's got most of his IGL experience over the agent, I wouldn't take it off him.
It's a little bit complicated but only time will tell.

posted about 2 years ago

Does anyone know in which team is elllement going to play?

posted about 2 years ago

Never heard anything about that. I heard pro players and coaches saying pretty good things about him and his IGLing skills. If what you're saying is right then there's where he took that ego problem from. What teams was he toxic to exactly?

Zander is already a top contender for one of the best sentinel players this year (according to the community). I personally don't have high expectations for V1 but if the rosters fails to qualify for major events I'm sure he can move to a better roster (100t Zander 2nd half of 2022? too early to say but who knows).

Hoody has already proven to be one of the best flex players in EU, even tho he didn't qualified for masters Giants was definitely the best team of the LVP Rising Series and he put a lot of effort to make that happen. He improved a lot and he's surely getting better with the support of G2 to start this year.

posted about 2 years ago

I believe any player can change their mental and decision taking, altho he's not a prodigy, he's just a top ranked player rn.

Take for example: s1mple (Not making a comparison between them but just to make a point), he made a 180 change from the toxic fragger from HellRaisers and Liquid to the 2019 NaVi star. It's a long way to go for any player but it only takes dedication.

posted about 2 years ago

We don't know whether or not Phatt had any reasons release false accusations but I don't believe anybody would do that, not almost a year after niesoW retired from competitive play. He could've checked if that was his real acc after the game.

In the case that's niesoW's account, Heretics didn't even win First Strike in the first place.

xd momento sumn fc true first strike champions? boaster best igl eu 2020? (too late lol)

posted about 2 years ago

The fact that he plays Jett makes him viable for the team. It doesn't matter if he played the OP or not. Asuna trained to be the Jett of his team and did pretty well, even tho he didn't OP before. Trexx has already got half of the job done.

posted about 2 years ago

Facts. Unless aproto comes back to his early VCT form.

posted about 2 years ago

Why did they drop him?

posted about 2 years ago

I believe this roster is only pushing this org a little bit longer before EG drops their players and leave CS. Tier 1 NA CS doesn't exist anymore (for world class competition). The only chance for them to keep up the level is to shuffle their top players between orgs and pray for it to work out.

posted about 2 years ago

Since he's going to Gamelanders the new roster could probably get to the top 3-5 of BR. I don't see him competing internationally tho.
