The seeding for the draw was based on teams' playoff results, meaning that the eight teams that made playoffs were seeded based on their final placement in playoffs rather than their group stage results. From there, a random draw determined which teams would swap groups; one from either the #5 and #6 seeds, one from either the #3 and #4 seeds, and one from either the #1 or #2 seeds. The seeds drawn to swap were #5, #4, and #1, meaning that BLG and NOVA swapped groups, then TEC and Trace, and lastly AG and EDG. All other teams were kept in their original groups.

Before Stage 2, EDG, XLG, and DRG will attend Masters London. The league will also once again host a China Evolution Series event before Masters begins.
