NRG's new roster has lost 1 game (1-2 vs 100T) which was their 2nd game as a roster. They have only dropped a single map in their 8 other matches.
Against some good teams too. 1-0 vs TH, 2-0 RRQ, 2-0 MIBR, 3-1 100T. All of those teams have had success THIS YEAR.
When are people going to put some respect on NRG's name. They are going to dominate playoffs in ESWC. They will win it for sure.
They will do amazing in split 2 as well and I believe they will get top 3 at champs. Calling it now.
MIBR made Toronto and was top 3 split 1 over 9 other teams. TH 5-0 split 1, 2nd place overall EMEA playoffs. RRQ won APAC over 2 of the best teams in the world. 100T hasn't had as much success (was just average split 1 Americas, but still made EWC and had very competitive matches against some great teams like Fnatic. But 100t hasn't had as much success as the others.
The thing is though, NRG didn't just beat these teams. THEY DOMINATED THEM.
I don't understand this mentality for this tourney. I get it for soop bc rosters are still forming and new. But eswc is the largest prize pool event with all of the best teams in the world. People saying its mickey mouse have never played anything competitive in their life. The fact people think teams aren't trying in eswc just because its not a main vct event make me laugh. There is no way people think a tournament with the top prize being 500k, that teams just aren't trying.

Have you ever played a sport or esport growing up. Just because your tired does that make you not try or give up? Wdym rest time, is playing one match every 3 days in toronto for the few teams that even made it far that physically demanding? All of your points are just plain idiotic no offense.
production has no effect on how teams play.
china started stage 2 right before ewc and they had to play on the new patch btw
map pools constantly change between patches which obviously means these teams have to adapt to the maps that are rotating in, and if you don’t have enough time to adapt then you’ll just be in trouble
having 3+ hour tech pauses absolutely affects the teams playing what are you talking about?? it’s a big momentum breaker
thats what im saying. All these players here in this tourney everyone is acting as if PRX isn't gonna try at all after just winning a masters. All of these teams grinded to get to ewc throughout the year for the largest prize pool ever. BUT HEY ITS ONLINE SERVERS GUYS, THAT MEANS PLAYERS ARENT GONNA TRY
NRGs road was literally as hard as it could've been within their region. They beat MIBR, the 3rd best team in Americas stage 1, and dominated 100T in a b05 who ALSO beat MIBR. And this doesn't even matter to my point. The point is the competition on the whole, and this tourney has the 3 best Pacific teams, 2/3 of the best CN teams, 3/4 of the best EMEA teams, and 3/4 of the best Americas teams.
Define placing well? 5/8 of the playoff teams went to Toronto, and that almost certainly would've been 6/8 if G2 wasn't playing with a coach. XLG has been a mess since YOU got benched, which opens a second slot, leaving just RRQ as the only true underperformer, who, by the way, got eliminated by a Toronto team.
