The signing fills a vacancy at the head coaching position. York , who was signed as an assistant coach in the offseason, has been handling head coaching duties in 2025 as the only coach on the FPX roster.

LEGIJA returns to Valorant after around half a year away from the game. He previously spent three seasons as BLEED's head coach, overseeing the team's rise from a Malaysia/Singapore Challengers contender to a Pacific Ascension champion. LEGIJA's run with BLEED ended after the organization's first and only year in the top tier of Valorant, which ended with the team's removal from VCT.

The former CS:GO player, who spent nine years in the professional scene as a player and a coach, brings a wealth of experience to FPX, who is looking to return to the top tier of China. After re-signing former in-game leader BerLIN , the team is looking to qualify for its first international event of the year through China Stage 2.
