im happy dude won another major but looking at the state of other prev NA champions and how they are being treated on poor performances.. gotta say tenz is the luckiest to have the support system in sentinels and fans in general.. i remember in 2022 when his team was dogshit and there was a match where a skye dog had the same kills as him.. sure he got shit on by a few but sentinels immediately picked up champs to surround him in 23 and then again in 24.. like i dont see demon1 or anyone else being this lucky.. they cannot afford to have poor performances for 2 years

He has good support system but he’s also the most hated pro player. He got hated way more than Yay right now

hard to quantify who is getting more hate but my point is other pros dont find the same support so they might actually never make a comeback. bro literally got unlimited chances which is redeemed again after madrid

Idk mannn...
Yay fs getting way more hate then tenz back then
especially since there are more fans of the esports scene now and more people are coming
than before when tenz was bad

tenz definitely got more hate because more fans = more hate and tenz has almost 10x the fans that yay has but the hate seems more because it is mostly from vlr/twitter but if you check more of the websites that the general community uses like yt comments or instagram or even twitter you can still see him getting shit on for the recent poor performance of sen, tenz is the face of valorant and it will remain that way for a while so the hate he receives isnt comparable to what tenz gets and also the whole support system thing is in place because tenz made sentinels to a certain extent, he's their golden boy and money making machine so itd be stupid to let him go

well tenz hate is more like unfounded as he's not toxic nor has he been leaked being toxic to his team or ppl around him also he releases a mouse and it solds out in seconds so you got that and no other pro player can achieve that amount of influence, so like outside of winning he prolly generates more income than the whole team itself

clouted org cherishing their rich icon, he'll be surrounded by top tier players for the rest of his career I can promise you that. Everyone on that team is realistically replaceable but him.

#7

why would they ever replace him. his mechanics are insane and his ceiling as a flex is high. his clout is just the cherry on top.

him, zekken and john are “the guys” of sentinels.

his clout is not just the cherry on top lmfao he's pretty much the org itself. He's at a point where even if he completely shits the bed for the rest of this year, he'll still remain on the team. You're really underselling how valuable he is for SEN outside matches.

#11

and you’re underselling his value as a player.

im just saying sentinels hit the jackpot with TenZ. with him, you get the clout AND a good player is all im saying.

#17

not really underselling anything, I'm saying his value for the org is greater outside matches significantly more than anyone else on the roster. he's a good player but it's not like SEN look at him skill wise like how SKT looks at Faker, or how NAVI looks at s1mple.

That's just revisionist history. TenZ didn't have 2 years of poor performances. Also, TenZ is the pro player with the least care about stats but whose stats are the most important to people. Like this dude would TP in knowing full well he's about to die if that helps his team. Like I have never seen this dude try to bait a trade. Stat Andys might look up vlr to find these horrible stats(sometimes he genuinely played bad) but coaches recognize the selfless player he is and his input to the team.
That's why he has worked with multiple coaches at C9 and SEN and none of them talked badly of him even after leaving the team. Like even, syyko who left the team in such bad circumstances and still always been supportive of tenz and zekken.

you say that as if tenz is the only champ player who does that.. again im not even discounting his contribution but pointing out the fact that others dont enjoy the same privileges that tenz does even if they have achieved similar success.

i mean i've seen people bring up his fiance's health situation or his own to defend his performances on this forum but the same consideration is never afforded to other pros

“same consideration is never afforded to other pros”

i need examples please. people were literally offering their condolences or sympathy to demon1 for the same situation with katarina.

also tenz has gotten so much hate lmao where have you been

entire champ winning EG team had to split up because of EG being a shit org - that in itself is an example of how those pros have to suffer this year because of a lack of support system. imagine if they won the title on SEN - would they split up? just an example. sen didnt play a single international lan for 2 years and every pro gets fired on that team but 1.. u cannot convince me that tenz has an incomparable support system which other dont.. even his ex-teammates like shahzam and dapr and zombs have spoken about this. pancada i bet would have something to say about it aswell

I mean obviously his popularity, marketability etc. helps and there's no doubt that allows him more leeways than other pros but if you talk about community treatment, no one ever had it worse than tenz. Don't be revisionist, everyone nitpicks tenz all the time.
If you are talking about some people being supportive, then that could be said about demon1 and yay as well. yay tried to bribe his coach to cut a player and other bad incidents of being a toxic teammate and yet he has a reddit post in favor him currently trending on r/vlrcomp with 1k+ upvotes. Like community is always a mixed bag. There are haters and then there are fans.

#24

  1. there is no material evidence of yay's alleged bribing.
  2. idk why all of you sen flairs are so hell bent on moving the narrative towards hate from the community.. sure every other pro gets obliterated on twitter/reddit/vlr based on a single bad performance on a single half of a map and the hate might be proportional to the popularity of the pro BUT an actual support system is more than just twitter/reddit/vlr posts.. its the fact that some pros continue to find opportunities to prove themselves while others not so much.. case in point - i can bet if jawgemo's team does not win for another 2 years he may not find a team, much less a team built around him for his success.

I pointed out community narrative because you mentioned it first! You talked about people making excuses for tenz because of the kyedae issue then you edited out that part and asking me why I brought in the community support part! That's just you being scummy in an argument dude.
I admitted that he probably has more leeways on SEN bc of his stature and image but that doesn't mean he didn't deserve to be there on merit. His qualities are more apparent to his coaches and if he was afforded a spot just for his name the coaches and former players who got cut would have definitely said something about it.

he continued to find support because TenZ made SEN, he is their money child while also bringing them 2 trophies what else do they want, he is THE guy

You brought up that narrative when u brought up the point of having a a support system. That is a very valid line of argument. You are negating ur argument urself by saying that his hate is proportional to his popularity, then why wouldn't he have a good support system if he gets this much hate. The support system u r referring to is nothing but Kyedae and his friends. Every pro has one support system for himself so just because it is more visible in case of TenZ doesn't mean he has an unfair advantage

Steel - proven IGL with 100t in val
Nerve - Frying in T2 rn, with QoR (beat OXG recently)
Genghsta - Before Yay was farming with DSG (retired now)
clear - Match MVP twice on DSG before Yay

Tenz during 2022 - 23:

Shahzam - Stubborn of an IGL didnt adapt to chamber meta
Sick - Personal Issues
Dapr - Decent
Kanpeki - Average in T2 plays for TWT
Shroud - GOAT (but srsly)

Also picking up champs players doesn't mean success immediately, look at NRG now, and SEN had a language barrier, your entire point of this thread is to bait and hate on TenZ for no reason, I agree he maybe lucky but you cannot discredit his skill, mechanics and achievements for luck

He is lucky and has a great support system around him thanks to SEN, but he did reinvent himself as a player. From full time duelist, that too a jett one-trick (one of the best at one point to being really bad), to being a smokes player for the team. He plays omen and gekko at a really high level, and has an okay kayo as well. Not a lot of players can do that, especially considering he was a jett one trick.

Ofc Tenz never got dropped, 2022 he was hard carrying the team and also Sykko saw a drive to win in him so he kept him(the Sen roster was heavily influenced by who Sykko wanted)
After the 2023 season there was some massive problems in his play BUT he just switched to a new role and looked really solid on it and the team was trying to keep as few changes as possible going in to the next season

He has a good support system because he has built that from ground up, demon1's career has just started whereas TenZ started building his brand from youtube and FaceIt. Compare Demon1 to the TenZ back in CS, and following up when he joined valorant, literally everyone was saying how he is not worthy of being a T1 player anymore, then he goes on to win a title and solidifies himself as a player. His support system was built by himself after years of hard work and his dedication again when he was performing decent in SEN even tho they were not playing good.
The comparision to Tenz is completely invalid here cuz Demon1's career has just started. People love him for his skills cuz if he didn't have that, he wouldn't be where he is today. He is the Face of Valorant due to his own efforts and not by being ''LUCKY''.
I didn't know if u noticed but TenZ even to this day gets more hate than anyone else, so u can stop the cope that he has an "incredible support system". It is becuz of the shit he gets that people decided to support him. No one has gotten this much hate in his entire career in the entire scene and that is a fact.
People do consider Demon1's gf situation and hence why he is getting less hate even tho there shouldn't be even this much. Kyedae getting cancer is a pretty valid reason for his mental to take a toll, that was not a marketing strategy to build "A SUPPORT SYSTEM". It is becuz he has gone thru some shit and has the skill to prove himself that he gets this much support. I generally don't fall for these baits but this is just a braindead take for criticizing someone for working hard to get where he is today

It's not luck, they kept him for a reason. His following, on top of his skill which he has built from nothing. Whereas other players like Yay failed to build a brand despite being a part of one of the biggest orgs.

You could argue Tenz made valorant. He was valorant for atleast a year. I mean At a point where I didn't even play valorant all I heard Was "Tenz" my frnds told me to watch his game and no joke I didn't play shooters at all but he genuinely made me fell in love with his game so he deserves that perma spot in sentinels+ he is one the biggest earning points for sen

EDIT:: the hate he got isn't even comparable to the tiny amount of hate this fake one season pro's get. Even if tenz dropped 40 and still lost the fans would blame it on him it was that bad I don't even wanna talk bout his CS days
