Yay Downfall analysis

Can we talk about how yay had to deal with a broken tier 2 team going from optic to c9 and then just downhill all for no reason but because c9 had financial issues, all these players (aspas,tenz,derke,...) now had tier 1 teams to help them throughout like tenz in sentinels no matter what they had his back through ups and downs, yay got thrown down the ladder for no reason and couldn't go back up because of roster lock last season, this is just his circumstances that completely destroyed him, I feel like people completely forget that. Imagine going through all that right? People just don't lose skills overnight. In his case it just feel like a HUGE psychological influence and media that affected his game overall and now he's struggling.

if you want the truth then forget about him now and wait until he shows up again which he most likely will. sometimes ppl forget that this game is going to go strong for a lot of years which is understandable, right now he looks like shit and there's nothing we can do about it but who's to say his career is suddenly just over?

the downfall is real but its not the end of the world like this guy is a struggling tier 3 player going paycheck to paycheck, he's good

I agree but its honestly sad that people are clowning him but I just feel like like not his fault, he was doing well in c9 too but after it just feels like a whole drama of poor support for a system player and that indirectly affecting him and his own game

if it makes you feel better, the fact that there's so many people clowning on him or even talking about him at all to this day after he went winless in a tier 2 split and then immediately after went near winless on what should've been a good APAC team as statistically the worst player is good enough proof that his career will remain afloat. Irrelevancy is the killer. He's probably gonna take a break once this BL00D stint ends and come back freshed n shit. There's big names still talking about him and his overall clout is still very high, I don't think any other player in the scene could still keep all of that up with a downfall like this besides maybe TenZ.

Yeah I feel like tenz is the perfect example, was in his situation but bounced back but only difference is he had sentinels back him up no matter what

there is no universe where TenZ was having a downfall like yay right now both individually as a player and teamwise. I only made that TenZ comparison because I can still see him being talked a lot if he went through what yay did this past year, but he himself has never went through that in 2022 or 2023 at all.

Yeah by no means its the same but tenz was being clowned a lot for a lot of poor performances but he had sentinels back him up, a luxury the yay doesn't have but yeah yays downfall is just extreme.

yeah I just wanna bring into light also on how both simulatously lucky and unlucky yay is right now. There's been countless of upcoming pro players across esports that lost their dream for playing mid for a bit, meanwhile yay here is 100% gonna get a lot of tier 2/3 offers the second he flies back to the US after the past year of actual utter dogshit he just went through. He has a lot of second chances and it would be insane if he wastes them all (which is still def possible). Being the undisputed best player of VCT two years ago gives you that privilege.

he was doing well in c9 too

MF HE PLAYED 2 GAMES IN A COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT. Thats not enough to draw any concrete conclusion from. Players will get clowned on for playing like ass. He's lucky the shit that people talk about him only has to do with his gameplay. That's better than a whoooooooooole lotta pros out there.

his biggest mistake was going to T2... Those players are in T2 for a reason.. big ego + toxic and think they're the best players itw

Its unfortunate, it's very hard to watch all this shit thrown at the dude, people can't show the slightest compassion to help him, wasn't even his fault getting kicked down to the low tiers. Just poor circumstances

y0y

all that y0y meme aside, you must be brain damage.
He goes to T2 on his own, and then start being toxic and unprofessional.
AND NOW YOU SAY HE GOES BAD BECAUSE HE PLAY WITH T2 TEAMS GET MENTAL DAMAGE???
No, For fuck sake. HE CAN CHOOSE NOT GO TO DSG IN THE FIRST PLACE.

There's nothing toxic and unprofessional about what he did in those comms, if you have any bit of competive experience you know this is normal, he was the best player few months before dsg and he has a set standard that he expects, he wanted to WIN. His teammates failed to deliver.. pretty sure he went to dsg considering he knew 1 or 2 players like exalt but probably got frustrated with the poir team play and support going from andbox to optic to c9. Plus roster lock, he had to play somewhere to keep his rhythm

"blah blah blah DSG was 0% yays fault because I'm unable to accept that his quality of play has dropped. Instead I'll blame everyone around him and construe a scenario where its not his fault because I can't handle yay not being good being his own fault."

I'm tired of this dumbass narrative. You wanna know who else was in NA T2 last year? Who also had to deal with shit teammates and no team cohesion? N4RRATE and governor. They're both playing at a t1 level just fine right now. The issue is clearly yay. If hes mentally boomed from DSG that's HIS FAULT.

and people are wondering why yay got so much hate as a player smh

Yes but the point of this analysis is because it wasn't steady decline its almost as if it happened overnight, how's that possible? his style, aim, skills everything down right poor all over the span of a month, howz that possible. There has to be something to explain that. 2 years of high level gameplay to down right atrocious in a span of a month. I can't come to conclusion other than a mental affect because of conflicts with teammates

Okay, since people have different opinion about "toxic" let's just forget the toxic part.

Now do you think in his condition, if he want to WIN.
As "allegedly" the best player what he say in his (leaked) coms can make him winning? Is that professionalism?
When you got a good teamate you being OK. And when you got a bad teamate you being toxic. That's not a professionalism. And nothing wrong with DSG player when they are literally t2 player. Y0y being mad and frustrated is his own doing. Stop dickriding too much,

I have the atmost respect for every player and I want to understand where everything went wrong. There nothing dickriding about it. Ask other pros about it, its normal. Competitive rigor is normal, when my teammates laughing and ignoring comms I will get frustrated too. You are clearly on a hate bandwagon disrespecting players by mocking them by making fun Y0y and what not. Sure its funny but this thread was to understand his downfall you can argue why but stop assuming someone is dickriding lol

I have the atmost respect for every player

This one what you say before

His teammates failed to deliver

You say respect every player, but you blame yay teammates. Is that respect every player?
I'm okay you say that I'm bandwagon hating.
But do you ever think in your brain that yay the problem itself?
Considering what happen to all the player that play fine just before yay coming and now got destroyed and blamed and retired?
Do you respect every player???

all that cope when the real reason for his downfall are the chamber nerf and his inability to play other agent at a high level.. but sure lets blame his teammates, his coaches, and his teams coz apparently 3 teams are not enough for you guys.

People don't lose skills overnight

Zeek was also the MVP of Champions 2021, where was he in the beginning of and throughout 2022? why didn't he get this same treatment?

Chamber nerf definitely played its part, but your not aware that yay used to play a dominant role with sage and breach way back. And what do you mean by 3 teams? As for zeek, apparently he had medical issues with mental health

Don't compare y0y to aspas, tenz and derke. "How y0y had to deal with a broken tier 2 team" joining tier 2 teams is no one else's fault but his own, he knew what he was getting himself into. He could've easily joined any tier 1 team but the money was too good for him to pass and that was his downfall. Don't feel bad for him he did this to himself

the most braindead take i've seen. He thrived with a broken ass character and when that character got nerfed he was no more. It's as simple as that. Yay isn't good because he fails to adapt, he still thinks he can play duelist when he can't. He's a system player and without some of the best players in the world on his team, he can't reach the same success. He can't adapt and he'll be shit forever, his playstyle is for made for sentinel but he doesn't want to play that. He caused his own downfall.
