India does not recognize dual citizenship, right? On Liquipedia, it says he holds British nationality

Oci card

iirc OCI isn't the same as having the passport? My mother has an OCI but the only thing it really lets her do is go to India without needing a visa. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought she gave up her Indian nationality once she got her British passport.

i mean you no longer have an indian citizenship but i think holding an oci is counted as dual citizenship in the context of franchising

If you have birth certificate/dual citizenship/permanent residence documentation, you can DECLARE to be a player of that region. Otherwise import.

then maybe vlr should change his flag to india

yoshiii is filipino but living in japan under permanent residence, SCARZ at the time had a korean and a russian before + filipino, changing his flag to japan would cause misunderstanding. Russ is UK, but can play as pacific player changing his flag to India would cause misunderstanding.

Makes sense, but why do governor and ban have Korean flags?

They’re ethically Korean, I believe Governor doesn’t count as an import but ban does. Not 100% sure

on Global Contract Database, governor is non resident (import) whilst ban a resident pacific player (non import), which means Ban declared that he's a pacific player. Ban was born in korea, he could declare (he may have dual citizenship idk). Governor situation idk, if he was born korea/dual citizen he could declare pacific player.

You might be correct, I knew one of the 2 was and the other one wasn’t. I probably gotten switched up

and only if its their first time playing in franchise league, otherwise they count as imports

Ban was import 1st, then he chose to declare as a pacific player. Ban was born in korea, unsure about governor.

In tier 2, 2 imports are allowed (Even tho the rule is much more complex than that ). In tier 1, 1 import is allowed. Russ does not count as an import according to Riot

vlr should change his flag to india, Otherwise, this could lead to misunderstandings.

Players can reach to vlr and have them changed if that’s what they want. But regardless there is several cases. In tier 1 I can think of Tex who is not an import either. Or the other way around I think ban does count as an import for example

In tier 2 is way more common as well

Tier 1 Pacific = Asia (region). Tier 2 follows asia (subregion) country rule.

They should make it 3 imports rule so Valorant can have a more higher quality competition.
