Conut [#5]so if we just dig up australia and new zealand and ,move the islands over to a different region i think that our players would have a lot more chances
Why don't we take Oceania, and push it somewhere else!
MerkFreeks [#8]Why don't we take Oceania, and push it somewhere else!
Yeah thats Basically what I was thinking, But we can leave New Caledonia because they are a french colony
We force riot to make sure Conky and Komodo commentate the champs grand final
Then we build the absolute Aussie super team and we win ascension
But seriously, I think a lot of Australians/pacificers don’t really feel connected to the apac League as we have 0 players in it and thus no reason feel ‘patriotic’ for teams. Riot could help the oce scene grow by not making us imports in other leagues given they’re more like Australia than the apac scene.
And if riot wants to help the oce scene grow, maybe they could help some orgs roster teams to try and compete, or else this scene might die out

If the Pacific franchising teams change its possible for PWR to enter Valorant. I recall hearing about PWR being interested in it but don't take my word for it.
Zerphyr1 [#13]yep, I feel more connected to the chinese league than pacific.
Same, I mean I like the apac teams more, but I don’t feel any National pride, at least with fpx i can get behind autumn

I doubt riot would add anything Australian to tier 1, Conky and Komodo are more entertaining than a majority of tier 1 commentators yet they still haven’t gotten a chance. Anyways, riot wouldn’t add power as they’re a newer org and less trustworthy

OCE FRANCHISING TIMELINE:
Information from: https://youtu.be/ghPztYNocf0?si=pFluiKkg0BESxPpd&t=6963
Great interview by Elfish Guy, where he interviews Gomez (a historic oce figure who had worked in management positions in order/pwr/100t)
A few oce orgs applied for the partnership (this did not include pwr)
Every OCE org got rejected except ORDER.
Order had then made it to the interview phase, which required a meeting with riot.
Riot were focused on 3 main requirements:
At the time Order passed the financial checks and after a lot of convincing they also passed the competitiveness check.
OCE at the time had lacked the opportunities to proof themselves in valorant however there were countless amounts of OCE pro's in other esports (like LoL/cs/apex) which showed that if given the opportunity oce could thrive.
Despite Order being a big org they lacked the fanbase.
So the idea of a ORDER x PWR , duo venture came about.
After a few meetings they were on board.
Riot were also happy with this idea as it would bring a big fanbase into valorant.
Order around this time were trying to get investment for the cs team and valorant team, this was not very successful.
On reflection this is around the time the esports winter had started, with crypto crashing and other issues going on.
Riot were doing a deeper check on the orgs financial side and they realised how bad the situation was and decided not to go through with it.

Unfortunate that it didnt go through
Conut [#23]Unfortunate that it didnt go through
Gomez said in the interview that were a groupchat with a lot of the other owners who had applied.
Majority of the orgs had been denied.
Less then 10 said they were accepted.
A few said they were wait-listed.
Order x PWR had not been rejected or accepted at this point, so things were looking positive.
----- (speculating)
So the likelihood is that they were very close.

Pretty much, it’s gotten to the point where I feel like Aussies are ‘imports’ in the apac league like a rossy type
EZ, get Chinese billionaire to pay for citizenship of an Aus super team to a random African or South American countries. I hear some of the Caribbean ones can be bought for a big enough donation. Send the boys to EMEA or NA to role the T2 scene on low ping.
Sign gunba as the head coach (bro will scout the best talent then abuse the players until they become world champions)
OCE on top the 2026 or your money lost guaranteed
Zerphyr1 [#3]make a superteam with like tixx, maple, pl1xx and swerl.
Maybe even Bob
im curious, what happened with wronski? is he in some drama or why i havent heard shit from him since a few months ago did people forgot his existence or anything?

so unfortunate that could have made it if they didn't invest so much in the cs roster.
It makes sense as to why order went for the cs roster bc the revenue from the stickets and stuff would be insane which is good for investors but they were taking a gamble on investor money for the val roster
Weffery [#40]nah he retired bc he got rlly sick and couldnt hear out of one of his ears, i believe hes started his own clothing brand w his friends tho
cool for him tbh
missing [#37]no way PWR would EVERRRRRR get into franchising
they were about to but officially sign for the franchise league and they were gonna team up with ORDER to do it but order stuffed up their finances at the last second and so they couldn't join anymore
