How easily everyone on this site is getting fooled by those numbers 😭

whats the reason to fake viewership for an unreleased game though?

Stop spreading misinformation. If you don't know how Huya works just stop .
That viewership is based on Hype, bits and overall views . There are a lot more which goes into that .
LoL MSI had 27mil live which doesn't mean it had 27M live viewers.

It's still somewhat proportional ? So high hype is like engagement metrics ? I'm guessing numbers for 500k is closer to like 8k or so ?

They arent faking their viewers, I think those numbers represent something like engagements rather than concurrent viewership

Finally someone who knows

They arent faking their viewers, I think those numbers represent something like engagements rather than concurrent viewership

I'm pretty positive the viewership is artifically inflated, they have been doing this for many years especially in LoL. On the front pages of their popular streaming platforms you could see like a FULL PAGE of random streamers/channels with 2M+ concurrent viewers. They are inflating the viewercount so that their platform looks alive and popular.

Divide it by 6 and you get close to the real viewership, its the rule of thumb for chinese numbers because they are not actually viewership numbers but fan engagement score

Its a mix of viewers, comments and donations and it isnt a total number adding them all straight up but their specific formula with different weights for each thing.

For esports broadcasts rule of thumb is to divide by 6 because there usually arent many donations, for individual streamers that ratio is a bit higher

brother see the fkn clips that floated after worlds last year, people were on streets running with flags after the team won worlds, literally boys dorm were celebrating yeah they might fake it but we have no way of knowing, we havent seen this type of reaction ever. we cant either confirm or deny, but one thing is for sure they have a huge and great fanbase there(lol)
